My Brooklyn

I grew up in Brooklyn. I left Brooklyn in 1969, 30 years ago. I now live in South Florida, but Brooklyn will always be in my heart. My Brooklyn was 517 Cleveland St., between Belmont and Sutter on East New York. I went to Berriman Jr. High (P.S. 64) and to Maxwell High on Pennsylvania Ave. I remember Emilio's Pizzeria on Pitkin Ave., Celler Candy Store where I get knishes, ice cream soda. Walking home from school (Berriman) with my friends Miriam Vasquez and Josephine Roldan. I wonder where they are now. I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood in Brooklyn. How can I forget Coney Island, Highland Park, so many wonderful places that only Brooklyn has? If there is anyone out there that remember me please e-mail me.

My Brooklyn was Brownsville, East Flatbush and East New York. We first lived on Powell & Newport. Great block with woman sitting outside their buildings on Beach chairs, P.S. 184, Gershwin J.H.S. 166 on Van Sicklin & Linden Blvd. This was a brand new school when I entered in the 7th grade. H.S. of course was at Jefferson, and we had cellar clubs (H.S. Fraternities) in East Flatbush. Ours was Mu Epsilon and was on E.96th & Church, E. 98th, and then finally E. 46th St & Church Ave. We had members from Jefferson, Bklyn Tech, Erasmus and Tilden. These were some of the greatest times of our lives. I'd love to hear from old friends who shared these memories.
